Helpers are essential!
Sheperdgroup23 Ministries Unlimited Inc’s ability to provide high-quality care and to accomplish many agency goals and objectives is possible only with the help of volunteers and interns. Sheperdgroup23 Ministries Unlimited Inc works to match each volunteer with opportunities that meet their experience, skills and availability.
Opportunities exist for on-going projects, one-day events, individual/group projects, internships, and advocacy. People have worked on projects such as holiday help, special events and seasonal clean-up days. People of all ages are welcome, however, those under the age of 18 must be supervised by a responsible adult. Most opportunities are weekdays, during traditional business hours. There are limited opportunities for evening and weekend hours.
Are you looking for opportunities to help with our Children’s Holiday Program? More details here.
On-Going Volunteer Opportunities
On-going opportunities consist of service that can be done throughout the year. Such a volunteer may commit to a weekly, bi-monthly or monthly role. These volunteers become intimately connected with the sites that they serve and are an invaluable asset to our community.
Internship Program
Some Sheperdgroup23 Ministries Unlimited Inc programs offer on-site positions for local interns. If you are interested in learning more about becoming an intern at Sheperdgroup23 Ministries Unlimited Inc, please reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator at info@shepherdgroup23.org. Or call our Volunteer Desk at (518) 274-2607 x4139.
Applying to the Sheperdgroup23 Ministries Unlimited Inc Internship Program or Volunteer Program can take time. Please factor this into your decision on where to apply for an internship. Prospective interns applying to Sheperdgroup23 Ministries Unlimited Inc must complete an application, attend an orientation, submit to a background check, and if accepted, complete all training required for all volunteers and interns. Following these steps does not guarantee placement in a Shepherd Group 23 Ministries program.
Advocacy: Volunteer Voices for Good
The communities we serve benefit from advocates in many ways: advocates help raise awareness of the issues our consumers face, advocates help problem solve, and advocates work to influence policy at all levels to make a difference. If you would like to learn more about how you can advocate for positive change, please consider reaching out to Nina Nichols at info@shepherdgroup23.org. Nina staffs the Board Advocacy Committee (limited to Shepherd Group 23 Ministries board members) and works with volunteers/groups about advocacy they can engage in independently.
Many thanks to all the volunteers, advocates, interns, helpers, do-gooders, and friendly faces that help out!
